Come ormai evidente, mi dedico con raro accanimento ad acquisti un po’ folli connessi al variegato mondo della gadgettistica nipponica legata ad Anime e Manga. All’interno di questo variopinto mondo, ho una particolare propensione per tutto quanto connesso alla serie “Mobile Suit Gundam”. Cito, solo per fare qualche esempio di gadgettistica  la Zeon Towel, lo Zeon Military Apollo Cap nonché la prima e seconda Zeon Pin Badge con cui ho arricchito quest’ultimo. Nel mondo delle magliette, ho avuto occasione di comprare la bellissima Principality of Zeon EAF T-Shirt che ho giusto indossato nella mia ultima giornata trascorsa in bici. Alla mia collezione, ho recentemente aggiunto la Principality of Zeon 2nd Terrestrial Mobile Division California Base T-Shirt.

Acquistata sull’efficiente portale Hobby Link Japan, questa maglietta dal rosso brillante non si limita a riprodurre sul petto l’araldica del Principato di Zeon; il vero pregio della T-Shirt è sulla schiena dove sono riportati i riferimenti della seconda divisione mobile del EAF (Earth Attack Force), il corpo d’invasione della Terra.

Perse le speranze di ottenere una vittoria lampo durante la Guerra di Un Anno (U.C. 0079), il Principato di Zeon fu costretto ad avviare la campagna di invasione della Terra allo scopo di procurarsi le materie prime necessarie a proseguire il conflitto. A tal fine fu creata la Earth Attack Force (citata nella Principality of Zeon EAF T-Shirt) che, preso il controllo del cosmodromo di Baikonur, conquistò Odessa sul Mar Nero, centro nevralgico per lo sfruttamento delle miniere dell’area euroasiatica. Successivamente furono lanciate sulle coste del Nord America due divisioni, una delle quali occupò la California Base, una vasta area sulla West Coast disseminata di impianti, manifatture industriali, nonché di vari spazioporti della Federazione Terrestre. La maglietta in oggetto è proprio dedicata a questa seconda divisione che conseguì tale importantissimo successo militare.

Sempre prodotta da Cospa come molti dei gadget in mio possesso, la Principality of Zeon 2nd Terrestrial Mobile Division California Base T-Shirt è di ottima qualità come dimostrano la precisione del taglio e delle cuciture nonché, cosa essenziale, il dettaglio della stampa riprodotta. Inutile aggiungere che il riferimento alla seconda divisione d’attacco e al successo conseguito in California, aggiunge ai miei occhi un ulteriore elemento di pregio ad una maglietta di per sé già molto bella.

Purchased from the efficient Hobby Link Japan portal, this bright red shirt doesn’t just feature the Principality of Zeon’s heraldry on the chest; the real merit of the T-Shirt is on the back where it features references to the 2nd Mobile Division of the Earth Attack Force (EAF).

Having lost hope of a narrow victory during the One Year War (U.C. 0079), the Principality of Zeon was forced to launch an Earth invasion campaign in order to obtain the raw materials necessary to continue the conflict. To this end, the Earth Attack Force (mentioned in the Principality of Zeon EAF T-Shirt) was created, which took control of the Baikonur cosmodrome and conquered Odessa on the Black Sea, the centre for the exploitation of mines in the Eurasian area. Subsequently, two divisions were launched on the coast of North America, one of which occupied the California Base, a vast area on the West Coast dotted with plants, industrial factories and various Earth Federation spaceports. The T-shirt in question is dedicated to this second division, which achieved such an important military success.

Again produced by Cospa like many of the gadgets in my possession, the Principality of Zeon 2nd Terrestrial Mobile Division California Base T-Shirt is of excellent quality as demonstrated by the precision of the cut and stitching and, crucially, the detail of the print reproduced. Needless to add that the reference to the 2nd Attack Division and to the success achieved in California adds, in my eyes, a further element of merit to an already very nice T-shirt.
