Non è mistero che la serie animata “Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water” sia fra le mie preferite insieme ad altri capisaldi dell’animazione nipponica quali “Macross”, “Maison Ikkoku” e “Neon Genesis Evangelion”. Realizzata dal ben noto Studio Gainax, per la regia dell’iconico Hideaki Anno, la serie fu messa in onda sulle TV giapponesi nel 1991 e, quasi in contemporanea, raggiunse l’Italia col nome “Nadia: Il Mistero della Pietra Azzurra”. Il trentesimo anniversario della trasmissione nipponica di “Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water” è stato recentemente celebrato con la mostra “Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water 30th Anniversary Exhibition”, di cui ho acquistato il Catalogo ed alcuni Clear Files, nonché con la commercializzazione di un prolifico merchandising fra cui il bel “Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water” – Desk Calendar e la sporta in tela Universal Battleship “N-Nautilus” Large Tote.

La serie “Nadia:The Secret of Blue Water” ha fulcro nella lotta che contrappone le forze di Neo-Atlantide, reminescenza totalitaria di un antico regno di origini aliene che, millenni prima, contribuì alla creazione del genere umano stesso, e l’equipaggio del sottomarino Nautilus al comando del Capitano Nemo, discendente della dinastia regnante su tale antica civiltà. Nel corso della serie si scopre che il sottomarino Nautilus, gioiello della tecnica in quel 1889 in cui è ambientata la storia, non era altro che una semplice navicella di collegamento nell’antica flotta spaziale di Atlantide. Andato distrutto nel corso di agguerriti combattimenti, esso verrà rimpiazzato dal N-Nautilus, vero a proprio vascello da guerra dalle prestazioni infinitamente superiori al suo predecessore. Sarà al comando di quest’ultimo che il Capitano Nemo ed il suo equipaggio daranno battaglia al gigantesco Red Noah nelle puntate finali del cartone animato.

A mia modesta opinione, il N-Nautilus è bellissimo. Il suo design è contemporaneamente aggressivo e molto elegante. Le doppie ali a geometria variabile sono un elemento estremamente dinamico. Il muso a punta di lancia ed il ponte di comando dalle forme insettoidi sono di entusiasmante originalità. Insomma, tutto ciò premesso, non potevo certo farmi sfuggire la bella borsa in tela dedicata proprio al N-Nautilus.

La borsa è fatta con una tela robusta che, grazie a cuciture forti, permette di trasportare in sicurezza anche oggetti pesanti. L’immagine del N-Nautilus è stampata con precisione, senza sbavature e, grazie allo sfondo scuro, i contorni risaltano al meglio. Insomma, anche questa Universal Battleship “N-Nautilus” Large Tote è un ottimo prodotto Cospa che ogni appassionato di “Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water” non dovrebbe farsi scappare.

It’s no secret that the animated series “Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water” is one of my favorites along with other cults of Japanese animation such as “Macross“, “Maison Ikkoku” and “Neon Genesis Evangelion“. Made by the well-known Studio Gainax, directed by the iconic Hideaki Anno, the series was aired on Japanese TV in 1991 and, almost at the same time, reached Italy with the name “Nadia: The Mystery of the Blue Stone“. The thirtieth anniversary of the Japanese broadcastof “Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water” was recently celebrated with the exhibition “Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water 30th Anniversary Exhibition“, of which I purchased  the Catalogue and some Clear Files, as well as with the marketing of a prolific merchandising including the beautiful “Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water” – Desk Calendar and the Universal Battleship “N-Nautilus” Large Tote canvas bag.

The “Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water” series revolves around the fights between the forces of Neo-Atlantis, a totalitarian reminiscence of an ancient kingdom of alien origin that, millennia earlier, contributed to the creation of mankind itself, and the crew of the submarine Nautilus under the command of Captain Nemo, descendant of the dynasty ruling over this ancient civilization. Over the course of the series, it is discovered that submarine Nautilus, a technical jewel in 1889 in which the story is set, was nothing more than a simple utility ship in the ancient space fleet of Atlantis. Destroyed in the course of fierce fighting, it will be replaced by the N-Nautilus, a real warship with infinitely superior performance to its predecessor. It will be at the command of the latter that Captain Nemo and his crew will battle the gigantic Red Noah in the final episodes of the cartoon.

In my humble opinion, the N-Nautilus is beautiful. Its design is both aggressive and very elegant. The double wings with variable geometry are an extremely dynamic element. The spearhead nose and the insectoid-shaped bridge are of exciting originality. In short, having said all this, I certainly could not miss the beautiful canvas bag dedicated to the N-Nautilus.

The bag is made of a hardy canvas that, thanks to strong seams, allows you to safely carry even heavy objects. The image of the N-Nautilus is precisely printed, smudge-free, and thanks to the dark background, the contours stand out at their best. In short, even this Universal Battleship “N-Nautilus” Large Tote is an excellent Cospa product that every fan of “Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water” should not miss.
