Mi è capitato solo sporadicamente di citare su questo blog la mia partecipazione nel 2019 ad un intenso e interessante corso di escursionismo tenuto dal CAI (Club Alpino Italiano). Lezioni teoriche ed escursioni pratiche si sono susseguite durante l’anno, consolidando un’amicizia fra corsisti e istruttori che è proseguita anche dopo la pandemia. Ho, quindi, accolto con particolare piacere l’invito a partecipare ad una escursione sul Monte Resegone per sabato, 6 novembre. Radunatici alle nove del mattino presso la stazione di partenza della funivia, abbiamo raggiunto i Piani d’Erna a 1.200 metri d’altezza. Da qui, seguendo il sentiero che percorre il versante meridionale del Resegone, siamo arrivati al Rifugio Luigi Azzoni a 1.860 metri d’altezza. Con un piccolo, ulteriore sforzo è possibile arrivare in cima alla vetta principale del Resegone ove è posta una croce ferrea. La piattaforma della croce si trova a soli 15 metri più in alto del rifugio ed offre un panorama a 360° che spazia dall’arco alpino alla Pianura Padana, includendo Milano ed il Monte Bianco. In una giornata terza e luminosa come quella di sabato scorso, la vista era semplicemente mozzafiato grazie ad un cielo blu intenso ed ai colori autunnali di un ambiente circostante baciato dolcemente dalla prima neve dell’anno caduta solo due giorni prima. Siamo poi ritornati al punto di partenza seguendo il sentiero del versante settentrionale chiudendo un anello di nove chilometri per circa 1.200 metri di dislivello.

Era tanto tempo che non mi capitava di fare una passeggiata in montagna. Averlo fatto in condizioni meteo perfette, su un monte che non avevo mai visitato e con il fascino di un ambiente autunnale impreziosito dalla prima neve ha veramente resto l’esperienza un toccasana per il corpo e la mente. Spero davvero ci sia presto l’occasione per ripetere un’esperienza simile.

I have only sporadically mentioned on this blog my participation to an intense and interesting hiking course held by CAI (Club Alpino Italiano) on 2019. Theoretical lessons and practical excursions followed one another throughout the year, consolidating a friendship between trainees and instructors that continued even after the pandemic. It was therefore with particular pleasure that I accepted the invitation to participate in an excursion to Monte Resegone on Saturday, 6 November. We met up at nine o’clock in the morning at the cable car station and reached the Piani d’Erna at an altitude of 1,200 meters. From here, following the path that runs along the southern side of the Resegone, we arrived at the Luigi Azzoni Refuge at an altitude of 1,860 metres. With a little further effort, it is possible to reach the top of the main summit of the Resegone where the an iron cross is located.  The platform of the cross is only 15 meters higher than the hut and offers a 360° panorama that sweeps from the Alps to the Po Valley, including Milan and Mont Blanc. On a third and bright day like last Saturday, the view was simply breathtaking thanks to a deep blue sky and the autumn colors of the surroundings gently kissed by the first snow of the year that had fallen only two days before. We then returned to our starting point by following the trail on the northern side, completing a nine-kilometers loop with a difference in altitude of around 1,200 metres.

It had been a long time since I had done a mountain walk. Doing it in perfect weather conditions, on a mountain I had never visited and with the charm of an autumn environment enhanced by the first snow really made the experience a cure-all for body and mind. I really hope there will soon be an opportunity to repeat a similar experience.
