Il 9 e 10 novembre 2024 si tenuto il 28° Concorso di Modellismo Statico organizzato dall’Associazione Modellisti Bresciani (AMB). L’evento è fra i più importanti del nord Italia e, come consueto, si è tenuto nei prestigiosi spazi del Museo Millemiglia di Brescia. Il concorso dell’AMB gode meritatamente di grande notorietà fra i modellisti nazionali ed esteri che garantisce una partecipazione ed una presenza di pubblico di tutto rispetto. Quest’ultima edizione ha confermato tale trend con quasi 400 modellisti e circa 1500 modelli iscritti. Fra essi erano annoverate quattro mie opere registrate in tre distinte categorie, tutte Master: “He-162 D” fra gli aeronautici in scala 1/48, “VF-1J S-Fast” in Sci-Fi, “Yuki Mori” e “Lion Tuareg” in Figurini Fantasy.

Venerdì 8 novembre ho preso il pomeriggio di ferie per consegnare i miei modelli direttamente al punto di ritiro e iscrizione presso la sede del museo. Partendo da Milano, non è impresa facile andare e soprattutto tornare da Brescia causa traffico inteso. Sono stato più fortunato domenica 10 novembre quando, partendo di mattina, sono tornato al Museo Millemiglia per visitare il concorso e partecipare alla premiazione.

Entrato negli spazi espositivi, mi sono dedicato con piacere ai molti stand commerciali presenti e, con altrettanta soddisfazione, ho scambiato due chiacchiere con i gruppi di Reenactor che non mi aspettavo di trovare accampati nell’ampio cortile del museo.

Per quanto riguarda il concorso, sono rimasto sorpreso dal gran numero di modelli iscritti e dalla qualità elevata degli stessi. Purtroppo, l’illuminazione dei locali ha messo in difficoltà le mie scarse capacità di fotografo. Mi scuso, quindi, per la pessima qualità delle foto pubblicate in quest’articolo ma spero siano comunque in grado di dare un’idea del numero e del livello dei lavori esposti.

Come sempre, la premiazione è un momento di grandi emozioni soprattutto se, come in questo caso, la soddisfazione è raddoppiata grazie a due premi vinti (un argento per “Yuki Mori” ed uno per “VF-1J S-Fast”).

On 9 and 10 November 2024, the 28th Static Model Competition organized by the Brescia Modelers Association (AMB) was held. The event is one of the most important in northern Italy and, as usual, was held in the prestigious spaces of the Millemiglia Museum in Brescia. The AMB competition has great notoriety among national and foreign modelers, which guarantees a respectable participation and public presence. This latest edition confirmed this trend with almost 400 modelers and about 1500 models registered. Among them were four of my works registered in three distinct Masters categories: “He-162 D” in the 1/48 scale airplane, “VF-1J S-Fast” in Sci-Fi, “Yuki Mori” and “Lion Tuareg” in Fantasy Figurines.

On Friday, November 8th, I took the afternoon off to deliver my models directly to the collect and registration point at the museum’s headquarters. Starting from Milan, it is not an easy task to go and especially return from Brescia due to intense traffic. I was luckier on Sunday 10 November when, leaving in the morning, I returned to the Millemiglia Museum to visit the competition and participate in the award ceremony.

Once I entered the exhibition spaces, I was pleased to dedicate myself to the many commercial stands present and, with equal satisfaction, I had a chat with the groups of Reenactors that I did not expect to find in the large museum court.

As for the competition, I was surprised by the large number of models entered and the high quality of the same. Unfortunately, the light of the location put my poor skills as a photographer in difficulty. I apologize, therefore, for the bad quality of the photos published in this article but I hope they are still able to give an idea of the number and level of the works on display.

As always, the award ceremony is a moment of great emotion especially if, as in this case, the satisfaction is doubled thanks to two awards won (a silver for “Yuki Mori” and one for “VF-1J S-Fast“).
