Ai precedenti articoli Urusei Yatsura “Lum” Sticker, Urusei Yatsura “Lum” Full Color Hand Towel, Urusei Yatsura “Lum” Large Tote e Urusei Yatsura “Mendo Family” T-shirt, aggiungo ora un’altra maglietta dedicata al folle mondo ritratto nel cartone animato “Urusei Yatsura”: Urusei Yatsura “Kotatsuneko” T-shirt.  Senza tediare ulteriormente il lettore ripetendo quanto già raccontato sulla serie remake recentemente realizzata per celebrare il quarantesimo anniversario dalla prima trasmissione sulle tv giapponesi di “Urusei Yatsura”, vorrei subito fare chiarezza su cosa rappresenta l’immagine riprodotta su questa maglietta: il “Kotatsuneko”.

“Kotatsuneko” è l’unione delle parole giapponesi “Kotatsu” e “Neko”. Il Kotatsu è un elemento d’arredo tipicamente nipponico consistente in un basso tavolino dotato, sul lato inferiore, di una fonte di calore (tipicamente una resistenza elettrica) mentre, sul piano superiore, viene posto un futon o una pesante coperta. Su quest’ultima è spesso presente un piano di appoggio che permette di usare questa sorta di stufa come un normale tavolo. Se ci fate caso, negli anime ambientati fino agli anni 80’ (ad esempio, “Maison Ikkoku”) è facile vedere contesti familiari in cui i personaggi guardano la televisione seduti presso un Kotatsu. Ciò premesso, uno dei personaggi secondari più iconici della serie “Urusei Yatsura” è un enorme gatto bianco e nero che passa le sue giornate infilato in un Kotatsu. Lo strampalato personaggio raffigura l’evidente piacere che i gatti provano nell’accoccolarsi presso un posto caldo in inverno. Nonostante il suo aspetto imponente, il “Kotatsuneko” è un gattone tranquillo e gentile a condizione che nessuno tenti di privarlo del suo adorato Kotatsu.

Quanto sopra descritto dimostra come la maglietta in questione non sia affatto destinata al grande pubblico. Il target di riferimento, infatti, è l’appassionato di anime e manga che conosce in modo tanto approfondito la serie “Urusei Yatsura” da poter riconoscere ed apprezzare un personaggio secondario che appare solo in un numero limitato di episodi. Insomma, questa Urusei Yatsura “Kotatsuneko” T-shirt è destinato ad un pubblico di nicchia e la cosa, come facilmente immaginabile, mi piace moltissimo!

Concludo confermando che, anche questa maglietta, rispetta gli altissimi standard dei prodotti commercializzati da Cospa. La qualità del tessuto e delle cuciture è ottima così come la stampa dell’immagine, riprodotta senza sbavature o imperfezioni.

To the previous articles Urusei Yatsura “Lum” Sticker, Urusei Yatsura “Lum” Full Color Hand Towel, Urusei Yatsura “Lum” Large Tote and Urusei Yatsura “Mendo Family” T-shirt, I now add another t-shirt dedicated to the crazy world portrayed in the cartoon “Urusei Yatsura“: Urusei Yatsura “Kotatsuneko” T-shirt.  Without further boring the reader by repeating what has already been told about  the remake series recently made to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the first broadcast on Japanese TV of “Urusei Yatsura“, I would like to immediately clarify what the image reproduced on this shirt represents: the “Kotatsuneko”.

“Kotatsuneko” is the union of the Japanese words “Kotatsu” and “Neko”. Kotatsu is a typically Japanese piece of furniture consisting of a low table equipped, on the lower side, with a heat source (typically an electric resistance) while, on the upper surface, a futon or a heavy blanket is placed. On the latter there is often a support surface that allows this sort of stove to be used as a normal table. If you notice, in anime set up to the 80s (for example, “Maison Ikkoku“) it is easy to see family contexts in which the characters watch television sitting at a Kotatsu. That said, one of the most iconic secondary characters in the “Urusei Yatsura” series is a huge black and white cat who spends his days tucked into a Kotatsu. The wacky character depicts the obvious pleasure cats take in snuggling up in a warm place in winter. Despite its imposing appearance, the “Kotatsuneko” is a quiet and gentle cat provided that no one tries to deprive it of its beloved Kotatsu.

The above shows how the T-shirt in question is not at all intended for the general public. The  target audience, in fact, is the anime and manga enthusiasts who knows the “Urusei Yatsura” series so thoroughly that they can recognize and appreciate a secondary character who appears only in a limited number of episodes. In short, this Urusei Yatsura “Kotatsuneko” T-shirt is intended for a niche audience and I like it very much this characteristic!

I conclude by confirming that this t-shirt also meets the very high standards of the products marketed by Cospa. The quality of the fabric and stitching is excellent as well as the printing of the image, reproduced without smudges or imperfections.
