Il precedente articolo dedicato al Urusei Yatsura Lum Sticker è stato il pretesto per un breve excursus sulla serie animata “Urusei Yatsura” arrivata in Italia nel 1981 col nome di “Lamù, la ragazza dello spazio”. Tratta dal  manga di Rumiko Takahashi, autrice di opere culto come “Maison Ikkoku”, “Ranma ½” e “Inuyasha”, la serie “Urusei Yatsura” ha recentemente compiuto il quarantesimo anniversario dalla prima messa in onda sulle tv giapponesi avvenuta nel 1981. Tale evento è stato celebrato con la realizzazione di un remake della serie televisiva la cui prima stagione è arrivata anche sul suolo italico grazie ad Amazon Prime Video. Prova di quanto l’opera originale sia profondamente radicata nella cultura popolare del Sol Levante, il successo su suolo nipponico è stato enorme e la seconda stagione è prevista per il 2024. 

L’industria dell’entertainment nipponico ha ovviamente sfruttato la nuova serie animata come pretesto per inondare il mercato di ogni sorta di prodotto dedicato ad “Urusei Yatsura”. Grazie al successo ottenuto dal remake, è ormai impossibile tenere conto del numero e della varietà di gadget commercializzati dalle società nipponiche del settore. Non manca all’appello Cospa che, insieme al Urusei Yatsura Lum Sticker ed altri irresistibili gingilli di cui scriverò in futuro, ha immesso sul mercato anche questo delizioso Urusei Yatsura Lum Full Color Hand Towel.

È la prima volta che compro un fazzoletto dedicato ad un anime e credo sia anche l’ultima visto che, anche nelle giornate più afose, mi spiace usarlo per tergermi il sudore… Detto ciò, il prodotto è di altissima qualità grazie ad un tessuto molto assorbente come gradito dai Giapponesi durante le torride estati di Tokyo. L’immagine apposta sul lato superiore del fazzoletto è ottimamente riprodotta nonostante il tessuto morbido e poroso. In un gioco di colori accattivanti, con le tigrature tipiche del personaggio, Lum/Lamù si mostra in volo nella posizione rappresentata in uno dei più noti poster pubblicitari del recente remake.

The previous article dedicated to the Urusei Yatsura Lum Sticker was the pretext for a brief excursus on the animated series “Urusei Yatsura” that arrived in Italy in 1981 under the name of “Lamù, la ragazza dello spazio”. Based on the manga by Rumiko Takahashi, author of cult titles such as “Maison Ikkoku“, “Ranma ½” and “Inuyasha“, the series “Urusei Yatsura” recently reached its fortieth anniversary since its first broadcast on Japanese TV in 1981. This event was celebrated with the production of a remake of the TV series whose first season also arrived on Italy thanks to Amazon Prime Video. Proof of how deeply engrained the original work is in the popular culture of the Rising Sun, the success on Japanese soil has been enormous and the second season is scheduled for 2024.

The Japanese entertainment industry obviously used the new animated series as a pretext to flood the market with all sorts of products dedicated to “Urusei Yatsura”. Thanks to the success of the remake, it is now impossible to keep track of the number and variety of gadgets marketed by Japanese companies in the industry. This is the first time I’ve bought a handkerchief dedicated to an anime and I think it’s also the last time since, even on the sultriest days, I regret using it to wipe my sweat… That said, the product is of very high quality thanks to a very absorbent fabric as appreciated by the Japanese during the torrid Tokyo summers. The image on the upper side of the handkerchief is excellently reproduced despite the soft and porous fabric. In an eye-catching play of colors, with the character’s typical tigrature, Lum/Lamù is shown in flight in the position depicted in one of the most famous advertising posters of the recent remake.
